Dershowitz: Italian court correct to order retrial of American Knox

WASHINGTON – An appeals court in Italy ordered on Tuesday a retrial for American student Amanda Knox and her Italian former boyfriend who were acquitted in 2011 in the brutal murder of her British roommate in the house they shared in the town of Perugia.

The order of a retrial has brought back painful memories for the accused. Knox and Raffaele Sollecito spent four years in prison before being acquitted. They were accused of stabbing 21-year-old Meredith Kercher “in a drug-fuelled sex attack,” according to AFP.

Host Rob Sachs spoke with Dr. Alan Dershowitz, a professor of law at Harvard University, to discuss the case and the possibility of extradition.
