Affirmative Action: Supreme Court asks if a state can ban it altogether

WASHINGTON (VOR) – The Supreme Court is once again taking up affirmative action, this time answering the question whether or not a state can ban race-based preferences altogether, at least when it comes to college admissions.

Just a few months ago, the Court affirmed the University of Texas’s system for the limited use of race in student selection, but this case is very different. The issue is whether the state’s ban on any affirmative action program itself is Constitutional.
