Polunin is currently a principal dancer of The Stanislavsky Music Theatre and Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia. 

The young Ukrainian whose charismatic dancing has been compared to that of Rudolf Nureyev, is partnering Tamara Rojo in Marguerite and Armand. 

The ballet was created by Frederick Ashton in 1963 especially for legendary Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn.

The story is taken from Dumas fils’s La Dame aux camellias and the ballet is set to Liszt’s Sonata in B Minor.

After his dramatic exit from the Royal Ballet, Polunin launched his career in Moscow, appearing on television dance competitions and joining the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko theatre. 

Performances at the Royal Opera House in London are sold out.
