Representatives of Rosneft enter board of directors of Italian Pirelli

Three representatives of Rosneft have joined the board of directors of the Italian manufacturer of tires Pirelli & C. S.p.A, a report of the oil company says. In the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft concluded a transaction to acquire a 50 percent share in the capital of Camfin S.p.A., the holding company owning 26,19 percent of the Pirelli company.

The purchase was closed from pension funds and financial institutions attracted on the principles of project financing. The share in the holding company was acquired from an international consortium consisting of banks Unicredit, Intesa and the Clessidra Foundation. After the buying-in, the financial investor nominated candidates to Pirelli's board of directors, among whom there are President of Rosneft Igor Sechin, Vice-President for Commerce and Logistics Didier Casimiro, and financial director of Rosneft Petr Lazarev.
