Oligarch Kolomoysky going to "finish off" militiamen in east Ukraine despite ceasefire

During the working visit of President of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko to Donbass, oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky has openly declared, that he would not obey the President's decree on peaceful settlement, and that his army would "finish off" the militiamen in the South-East of the country in any case. This was confided by a source in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on condition of anonymity, RIA Novosti reports.

"During Poroshenko's working visit to the Donetsk region, Kolomoisky openly said to the President that he would never obey and that his army would in any case finish off "these separatists," said the agency's interlocutor. The source also added that oligarch Kolomoisky remained the main opponent of not only the ceasefire, but generally any contacts with the militia.

Let's remind that on June 19, President of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko said he would make his peace plan public on June 20. Friday evening, he made a statement that the Ukrainian army ended hostilities in the South-East of Ukraine for a week, until June 27.

At the same time, the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine on its website specifies that, according to Poroshenko's plan, the ceasefire is meant for the militiamen "to lay down arms." "Those who do not do it will be destroyed," the message says. Poroshenko also stated that during the truce, possible "military actions will only be of a retaliatory nature."

Besides, Poroshenko's plan provides for the free use of the Russian language in the South-Eastern regions of the country, as well as extra elections of local government authorities.

However, the militia of Lugansk and Donetsk said that Poroshenko's plan was incompetent, and they were not going to lay down their arms. This was announced by head of the Lugansk People's Republic Valery Bolotov. He also added that people of the Lugansk Republic did not consider Poroshenko the President of Ukraine. The Donetsk People's Republic also does not believe the promises of the security forces and is going to use the truce to regroup forces.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russian Federation made a statement that almost 1,500 people were recognized as victims in the case of using prohibited means and methods of war in Ukraine. The list of defendants in this case includes Governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Igor Kolomoisky, and head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov. The investigation is going to put them on the international wanted list.
