Truck crashes head-on into bus in Argentina, 19 dead
Both vehicles burst into flames after the collision in the province of Mendoza, and most of the fatalities were burned, police said.
State news agency Telam said the farm truck loaded with garlic was traveling 120 kilometres per hour in the wrong lane and hit the bus, which was carrying 39 passengers.
Mendoza police chief Juan Carlos Caleri said the truck had gone at least 4 kilometres in the wrong direction before the accident.
"We do not know why the driver was going in the wrong direction, there are signs in the zone," he said.
Both drivers were killed in the crash, provincial health minister Matías Roby said.
