Tomsk hacker found guilty of hacking Russian president's site
"In May 2012, the defendant carried out an attack on the official website of the Russian president, looking to disrupt the normal operation of the site. The attack led to unauthorized blocking of information and hindered user access to the site's resources," the press release says.
A criminal case was opened against the hacker, who was charged with "the creation, use and dissemination of harmful computer programs."
The defendant admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to 1.5 years of restricted freedom.
