Russia, Finland to work further on visa regime simplification

Russia and Finland will continue working on simplification of the visa regime, President Vladimir Putin and his Finnish counterpart SauliNiinistö said when meting businessmen of the two countries in the Russian president’s residence in the Moscow region.

The Finnish president said that the simplification of the visa regime and of the procedure of granting permission for work to young specialists providing was the right formula for building the future.

In his turn Putin stressed that Russia remains the main trade and economic partner for Finland, accounting for more than $3 billion of Finnish investments.

He also said that in 2012 had seen a record number of people crossing the Russian Finnish border which is 12.7 million.
