Fearless skydiver's velocity higher than thought - reports

The speed of a record-breaking jump by Felix Baumgartner of Austria, who became the world’s first skydiver to break the sound barrier in freefall, was higher than originally estimated.

According to the recently released data, the supersonic skydiver reached a maximum velocity of 1,356.6 km/h.

Baumgartner broke the freefall record on October 14th 2012, when he jumped out of a space capsule from an altitude of 39 kilometers.

The record-smashing freefall by Fearless Felix lasted for 4 minutes 19 seconds.
