Colombian Air Force strikes and kills a FARC chief

The Colombian Air Force has killed, in an airstrike, a chief of the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces, FARC, Jacobo Arango, and five other militants who have not yet been identified, according to Spain’s EFE News agency.

Clashes between government troops and FARC rebels are continuing despite the ongoing talks between the Colombian authorities and the rebel leaders.

The rebels insist on a bilateral ceasefire, something the Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, says he cannot accept at the moment.
