Russian PM feels Russian-German relations important

Russian Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev sees Russian-German relations as extremely important since they largely affect the economic situation in the entire Europe.

He said in an interview with the Handelsblatt German newspaper that a lot depends on the consolidated position of Moscow and Berlin, although Russia is not an EU member-state and does not form part of the Eurozone.

Medvedev does not feel that now that Vladimir Putin has again been elected Russian President, Russian-German relations have somewhat cooled. Vladimir Putin and Chancellor Angela Merkel are on good terms, which enables them to settle any problems, Medvedev said.
