Ban Ki-moon, Lakhdar Brahimi point out lack of progress in Syria settlement

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN and Arab League special envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, have pointed out the lack of progress in settling the Syrian conflict, which has been raging for almost two years now.

It follows from a report by the UN press service that the two were “horrified” by the fact that the world community fails to be at one about ways to settle the problem, of which an agreement was reached in Geneva in June last year.

The two officials denounced the murder and destruction by all parties to the conflict, and condemned arms supplies by outside forces to the warring factions.
