Dance partner for President Barack Obama at inauguration ball chosen

Four men and women were finally chosen out of 50 candidates to dance with President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife at the Commander in Chief’s Ball, an inaugural ball to take place Monday night to honor US troops.

Among the chosen military is Staff Sgt. Bria Nelson, an Air Force medical technician, who served in Afghanistan and is now serving at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington. She is picked to dance with President Obama.

The dance partners were picked from a list of 50 candidates proposed by military chefs and based on their combat and volunteer experience.

The tradition of dancing with one of guests at an inauguration ball for military families was initiated by President George W. Bush.
