CAR govt, rebels agree on unity government

The government of the Central African Republic has signed a formal ceasefire with the Seleka rebel alliance following talks in Gabon.

The rebels and the president agreed to form a unity government.

President Francois Bozize will stay at the helm while a prime minister will be appointed from the opposition bloc, and legislative elections will be held in 12 months.

The ceasefire followed a four-week offensive.
