More than 120 million personal tax data files have been stolen by employees of one of the companies in the suburbs of Athens, Greece’s Ethnos newspaper reports.

According to experts’ estimates such volume of personal data can be sold on the “black market” for 100 000 euros. The cybercrime department of the Greek police has launched an investigation into the case.

This has been the third incident of this kind in Greece over the last few months.

In November police arrested a 35 year-old worker of a private company who was trying to sell about 9 million personal tax date files.

Earlier the documents with macroeconomic data were stolen from the Finance Ministry.
