Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharaf said on Sunday that he wants to return home to run for the parliamentary elections, scheduled for early next year. He added that his approval ratings remain high in Pakistan.
Musharaf stepped down in August 2008 and since then, he has lived in exile in London and Dubai.
In Pakistan, there are warrants for his arrest in connection with the killing of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, whose husband Asif Ali Zardari is currently the country’s president.
