American business calls for better US-Russia trade ties

Over 500 American companies of the Coalition for US-Russia Trade have urged Congress to spur up its work on a draft law to establish permanent trade relations with Russia.

They submitted a joint letter to US President Barack Obama asking him to cooperate with Congress on eliminating the Jackson-Vanik amendment, the Voice of America radio station reported Friday.

The coalition has pointed out that as long as the US is pondering the Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) law American business will be forced to watch foreign competitors snatching the best deals that “will lock in commercial relationships for years to come."
