UN rushes food aid for Sandy victims in Cuba and Haiti

The United Nation is sending emergency food aid to Cuba and Haiti as they struggle to recover from Hurricane Sandy that raged across the Caribbean in late October, claiming 69 lives, including 11 in Cuba and 54 in Haiti.

In Cuba, one million people, or 10% of the entire population, were affected by the storm.

In Haiti, ruined by a devastating earthquake two years ago, famine is threatening 1.5 million people.
