China’s Navy passes first aircraft-carrier into service

China’s Navy passed the country’s first aircraft-carrier into service earlier today, according to the Defence Ministry of the People’s Republic of China.

The Liaoning aircraft-carrier, built in the Chinese city of Dalian, was to have been originally the Varyagmultirole aircraft-carrier of the Soviet Union.

China bought her from Ukraine in 1998. The ship has by now left port ten times and is through with all of her sea trials.
