Stockholm hosts Water Week

On Sunday, the 2012 Water Week kicks off in Stockholm.The forum is attended by more than 2,500 experts and 200 organizations from 100 countries. This year, the main topic on the agenda is food security.

According to the Institute’s head Per Bertilsson, in the future the human race would face the shortage of water resources and it is necessary to ensure more efficient water use and to revise approaches towards production, trade and consumption of food products.

Since 1991, the Stockholm International Water Institute annually hosts and organizes the World Water Week which is aimed at bringing together scientists, politicians and public organizations in their attempt to ensure more efficient water resources management.
