In 2012, Russia will test fire its Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile only once, in November, specifically from the nuclear-powered submarine Alexander Nevsky.

This came in a statement by a high-ranking official of Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation. Bulava is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 8,000 kilometres. Experts believe that the missile’s unique flight control system will add new quality to the Russian Navy’s striking power.
