For the first time in 22 years Russia reaches Volleyball Finals

Today, August 10th, Russia’s men’s volleyball team defeated Bulgaria’s with a 3-1 win. For the first time since 1980 Russia will fight for the gold in Olympic Volleyball.

At the semifinals Russian team crushed it’s opponent in four sets with a 25-21 25-15 23-25 25-23 score at Earls Court. After losing first two sets Bulgaria stepped up the game to win the third, but their chances of success were cut short as Russia took the fourth and final set.

In the final match for the gold medal Russia will play against either Brazil or Italy, depending on the today's match netween two countries. Bulgaria will play off for the bronze.

Russia is ranked 4th with 58 medals (13 gold, 21 silver, 24 bronze).
