Moscow condemns Damascus blast

Moscow has condemned the National Security building blast in Damascus, the country’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich stated on July 18.

The Damascus blast killed four senior defense officials, namely Syria’s

Defense Minister Dawoud Rajha, his deputy, President Assad’s brother-in-law, ex-Defense Minister Hassan al Turkmani and Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar.

A suicide bomber attacked the National Security building during a meeting between the ministers and security officials on UN peacekeepers in Syria.

The Free Syrian Army and the Liwa al Islam radicals claimed responsibility for the attack.
