Chechen drama theatre starts new season

The Lermontov Russian Drama Theatre in Chechnya presents “The Government Inspector” by Nikolai Gogol at the opening of the new season. According to Director Vladimir Poglazov, “The Government Inspector” is timeless because it depicts a corrupt world of government officials.

The Chechen Drama Theatre has a variety of works by Russian classics on its repertoire, including “Balzaminov’s Wedding” by Alexander Ostrovsky and “I’ll Come Back” by Anton Chekhov.

The newly rebuilt theatre is opening its doors for theatrical public on May 9th .

The restoration of the theatre was ordered by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
