The oldest man in Germany has celebrated his 109th birthday.
Paul Veit from the town of Neuruppin, Brandenburg Land, is a rather brisk man in spite of his respectable age. He does not wear glasses to watch TV and prefers news programmes and old films.
His 63-year-old daughter helps him in his everyday life.
Veit observes traditions in everything: he wears formal suits with a tie and brightly polished shoes. When asked about the secret of his longevity he answers that he always worked hard and had a moderate way of life without drinking or smoking.
