Moscow has conveyed condolences to Moldova on the death of a Moldovan citizen, Vadim Pisar, in the Trans-Dniester conflict safety area, adding that Russia will thoroughly investigate the incident. This came in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The incident occurred in the morning of January 1st, when the resident of the Pyryta village had twice crossed the checkpoint on a bridge over the Dniester River in high gear, ignoring orders to pull up.
The chief of the guard first fired warning shots in the air, and then fired a short burst at the wheels. One bullet hit the driver on the rebound, eventually causing his death due to loss of blood.
