Trials of INS Vikramaditya, the former Soviet aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov, have been postponed for six months to be held next spring.
The ship is being refitted at the Sevmash shipyard in the Russian White Sea port of Severodvinsk.
The shipyard needs six months to complete the refitting of the interior and the harbor testing program.
Russia and India signed a deal for the sale of the ship in 2004. According to unofficial reports, the cost of the contract was $2.3bln.
