Russia for careful removal of UN sanctions from Talliban members
Russia advocates for careful approach to the removal of the UN sanctions from Taliban members and any of such requests should be well-grounded, Russia’s envoy on Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said.
The countries which submit such a request should guarantee that the Taliban members won’t go back to extremism, and be responsible for it, he stressed.
Kabulov also said that the approach to the removal of sanctions should be gradual and personal.
He said that this year the sanctions regarding 14 members of Taliban have been removed and in 2010 the sanctions were removed from 12 members of Taliban.
