Western Europe swelters in heat wave
Much of Western Europe is seeing record temperatures for June with temperatures in Spain, France and Belgium and even in parts of the UK shooting well into the upper 30s Celsius. Weathermen say the air in Paris may heat up to a scorching 40 degrees already today.
In Belgium more than 10,000 commuters are flocking to local rail stations seeking shelter from the oppressive heat.
In central Russia the air is warming to plus 30 degrees for the first time since summer finally set in earlier this month.
