Russia's parliament ratifies sea treaty with Norway

The Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament, has ratified the Treaty with Norway on the division of sea territories in the Barents Sea and in the Arctic Ocean. The Treaty sets a sea border between the two countries in the Arctic and the conditions for bilateral cooperation in fishing and in the development of natural resources.

The Treaty was signed in September last year after nearly 40 years of talks.
