Moscow to splurge on figure skating worlds

The Moscow city government will  spend more than 200 million rubles on hosting this year's figure skating world championships. The competitions were originally planned to be held in Tokyo, but the venue was eventually changed due to the tragic aftermath of the March 11 devastating earthquake and tsunami.

The Moscow city government will  spend more than 200 million rubles on hosting this year's figure skating world championships.

The competitions were originally planned to be held in Tokyo, but the venue was eventually changed due to the tragic aftermath of the March 11 devastating earthquake and tsunami. 199 participants from 45 countries are expected to take part in the contest, to run from April 23 to May 2.
