Japan's earthquake’s death toll exceeds 7,000

 In Japan, the number of those who died following recent powerful earthquake has exceeded 7,000. More than 10,000 people have been listed as missing. “This is the most tragic natural disaster in the post war history of Japan”, the national police department said in a statement Friday.

The number of victims among those who survived the earthquake is also growing.

On Friday, 22 rescued people have died of injuries in the evacuation centers of Fukushima prefecture.

The authorities are doing their best to restore traffic and communication in the districts hit by the earthquake.

The airport of Sendai has been opened for emergency services’ planes and the bus service has resumed between the cities in the north east of Japan.
