Today in the Okhotsk Sea the icebreakers Krasin and Admiral Makarov will pull the Commonwealth mothership into clear waters.

There are about 50 miles of thick ice between the ship and the open sea.

The ship with a crew of 348 people has been stranded in the ice since December 2010. The Krasin had already tried to free the Commonwealth before the arrival of The Admiral Makarov.

Right before the New Year, The Commonwealth, The Coast of Hope and The Professor Kizevetter all sent out distress calls. All vessels except The Commonwealth have already been released.
