Ecuador mourns coup attempt victims
The Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa has declared three days of national mourning for the victims of last Thursday’s attempted coup.
Four people died and nearly 200 received injuries in a day of unrest after soldiers and police angered by pay cuts seized barracks and bases, blocked Quito Airport, injured the President and locked him up in military hospital. Mr Correa was eventually freed by loyal troops.
The authorities are after the masterminds of the mutiny.
