NATO bombs kill 6 Afghan children

NATO air forces killed six Afghan children in Afghanistan's Kunar province during a mistargeted attack on Taliban positions.   The local police chief Khalilullah Ziayee said that earlier Taliban insurgents had attacked a local police station, thus NATO forces headed to the scene. However, bombs killed six children, aged 6 to 12, while they were collecting scrap metal.

Police are investigating.
