Kyrgyz commission to probe June riots

A special government commission has been formed in Kyrgyzstan to investigate last month’s ethnic riots in the southern Osh and Jalal-Abad regions. The commission   comprises 30 members representing state agencies and ethnic communities and is headed by ex-parliament speaker Abdygany Erkebayev.

The commission  comprises 30 members representing state agencies and ethnic communities and is headed by ex-parliament speaker Abdygany Erkebayev.

It has until September 10 to submit a report on the June riots that left more than 300 people dead, according to official estimates.
