Russia hopes sanctions unneeded to settle Iran`s issue
Russia thinks there is still a possibility to settle the conflict over Iran`s nuclear program without imposing extra sanctions, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told the Interfax news agency. He added that as a rule sanctions do not work but sometimes they are inevitable. ‘The main task is to decide on the right moment for this”, Mr. Ryabkov said. The West suspects Iran of seeking nuclear weapons. Tehran denies all the allegations. After Iran had turned down an offer to send its low-enriched uranium abroad for further enrichment, the US and Europe threatened new sanctions.
